1. Ljubljana

Discover Ljubljana Castle, the historic Old Town, Triple Bridge, Prešeren Square and the Ljubljanica riverfront. Ljubljana’s official tourism offer pairs its historic centre with the hilltop castle, while Jože Plečnik’s architecture gives the city much of its distinctive character.

2. Bled & Bohinj Lakes

Experience Slovenia’s two iconic Alpine lakes. At Bled, visitors can travel to the island by traditional pletna, a local boat tradition dating back centuries, before continuing deeper into the Julian Alps toward Lake Bohinj.

3. Soča Valley

Follow the emerald Soča through the landscapes around Bovec, Kobarid and Tolmin. Highlights can include the Great Soča Gorge, whose emerald pools run through a 750-metre gorge, and other selected valley viewpoints.

4. Postojna Cave & Predjama Castle

Travel underground aboard Postojna Cave’s famous railway and continue to Predjama Castle, built dramatically into a 123-metre cliff.

5. Piran & the Coast

Trade Alpine scenery for the Adriatic. Explore Tartini Square, Piran’s narrow historic streets, waterfront and preserved town walls overlooking the Slovenian coast.

6. Velika Planina

Ride toward one of Slovenia’s most distinctive pastoral landscapes, known for its traditional shepherds’ settlement and pine-shingled huts. Herdsmen generally return with their cattle during the summer grazing season.

7. Kranjska Gora & Vršič

Visit Lake Jasna and the Kranjska Gora area before climbing toward Vršič. The road reaches 1,611 metres and contains 50 hairpin bends between Kranjska Gora and Trenta.

8. Vipava Valley & Brda

Slow the pace among vineyards, family wine estates and hilltop villages. Wine-growing in the Vipava Valley goes back at least two millennia, while Brda is known for landscapes, wine and heritage sites such as Šmartno and Dobrovo.
