Alpine Slovene (ALPINE FAVORITE)
Two private days through Bled, Bohinj, Kranjska Gora, Vršič and the emerald Soča Valley.

Lakes, Peaks & Emerald Rivers
Alpine Slovenia brings together some of the country’s most spectacular landscapes in a focused two-day private journey.
The first day is built around Bled and Bohinj, combining Slovenia’s iconic island-and-castle scenery with the quieter natural character of Lake Bohinj. The second goes higher and wilder, through Kranjska Gora, Lake Jasna and Vršič Pass into the Soča Valley.
The contrast is what makes this package special: traditional Alpine towns, glacial lakes, mountain roads and an intensely emerald river all within one compact region.
Lake Bohinj is officially recognised as Slovenia’s largest natural permanent lake, while the Vršič road is the country’s highest road pass and connects the Upper Sava Valley with Trenta and the Soča side of the Julian Alps.
Why Choose Alpine Slovenia?
Two Full Private Days: Enough time to experience the Alps without turning them into a rushed checklist.
Bled & Bohinj Together: See Slovenia’s two best-known Alpine lake environments.
Vršič Scenic Road: Experience one of the country’s most memorable drives when conditions permit.
Emerald Soča: Follow the river into one of Slovenia’s defining natural landscapes.
Private Vehicle: Travel at a more personal pace between destinations.
Ljubljana Base: The standard itinerary can return you to the same accommodation each evening.
Day 1: Bled & Bohinj Lakes
Private pickup from your Ljubljana accommodation.
Travel north toward Lake Bled.
Time for views of Bled Island and Bled Castle.
Optional pletna journey to Bled Island; the traditional pletna is unique to Bled and carries visitors across the lake to the island.
Continue toward Lake Bohinj, deeper inside the Julian Alps.
Explore selected lakeside viewpoints around Bohinj.
Depending on timing and your preferences, optional possibilities include Savica Waterfall or the Vogel cable car/viewpoint.
Return to Ljubljana.
Day 2: Kranjska Gora, Vršič & Soča Valley
Depart Ljubljana for Kranjska Gora.
Stop at Lake Jasna.
Optional detour toward Planica Nordic Centre, a major centre for Slovenia’s ski-jumping, ski-flying and Nordic-sport tradition.
Begin the scenic ascent toward Vršič Pass.
Pass landmarks such as the Russian Chapel and mountain scenery along the historic road.
Cross Vršič at 1,611 metres when road and weather conditions allow.
Descend through Trenta toward the upper Soča.
Stop at selected Soča viewpoints such as the Great Soča Gorge.
Continue toward Bovec before returning to Ljubljana via the western route.
Important Alpine Route Note
Vršič is a high-mountain road and can close because of snow, winter conditions, maintenance or temporary traffic measures. The official Kranjska Gora tourism site explicitly notes seasonal closures. When crossing is not possible, the day should use an alternative Alpine itinerary rather than promising guests something nature or road authorities may prevent.
